Sissu Falls is a waterfall located in Sissu Town in Lahaul and Spiti district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is considered by travelers as one of the best falls in the Himalayan region. This waterfall has a drop of about 50 metres. The source of water is the suspended glaciers on the Himalayan range. The place is magnificent with dense green vegetation and beautiful scenery. The falls can be seen from the road to Manali.




The best time to visit this waterfall is during the months from June till October. The falls is located at about 27 Kms from Tandi, 33 Kms from Rohtang La, 39 Kms from Manali, 79 Kms from Kullu, 89 Kms from Kullu Manali Airport, 202 Kms from Joginder Nagar Railway Station and 277 Kms from Shimla. This falls is situated at about 20 minutes’ drive from Sissu on Leh Manali highway.

Sajla Waterfall is a waterfall located in Sajla Village in Kullu District in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is a natural waterfall situated on the left bank of Beas River. It is surrounded by deodar trees, pine trees, apple orchards and snow-covered mountain peaks. There is a pool at the bottom of the falls. The Waterfall

History

The name Chadwick is derived from Chidku Jhaar where Chidku means sparrow and Jhaar means waterfall in the local language. It was named so because the locals thought only sparrows could reach the top of the waterfall and not humans. The Britishers found it difficult to pronounce this name and hence started calling the waterfall Chadwick falls.



The Falls

The falls is situated at an altitude of about 1586 m above sea level. The water cascades down a deep gorge at a height of 86 m. This waterfall is tucked away in the mountains amidst dense forest of pine and deodar trees. The best time to visit the falls is after monsoons during the months of July to October.

The waterfall is located at about 2.5 Kms from Summer Hill Railway Station, 4 Kms from Shimla Railway Station, 5 Kms from Shimla New Bus Stand, 5 Kms from Shimla Old Bus Stand and 15 Kms from Shimla Airport. Shimla is well-connected by road network to all major cities in north India and all major towns and district headquarters within the state. National Highway 5 connects Shimla to the Chandigarh. This waterfall can be approached through Summer Hill. Vehicles can get close to the entry point of the waterfall. Tourists need to walk for about 10 minutes to reach the waterfall.
