Anayadikuthu Waterfall, Anayadikuthu, Kerala
Anayadikuthu Waterfall is a natural waterfall located in Anayadikuthu Village near Thodupuzha Town in Thodupuzha Taluk in Idukki District in Kerala, India. It is also known as Anachadi Kuth Falls. It is situated close to the Thommankuthu Waterfall on the border of Karimannur and Vannapuram Panchayats.
Legends
As per legend, it is said that herds of elephants from
the inner forests used to reach the flat rock above this waterfall to drink
water in summer. During such visit, a clash happened between two elephants and
one of them fell into the waterfall and died. Thus, the waterfall came to be
called Anachadikuthu. Later, the name got corrupted Anayadikuthu.
The
Waterfall
The waterfall is located at the bottom of the stream
that flows through Kambakakanam and Neikuthanal. There is a concrete
bridge for people to walk across the top of the falls. The waterfall will be in
full glory during the monsoon season. It is considered one of the safest
waterfalls, making it a favourite destination for families. The visitors are
also allowed to take a dip in its refreshing waters. Monkeys and several
species of birds can be seen near this waterfall. There are monkeys and many
types of birds near the waterfall.

The waterfall is located at about 1.5 Kms from Anayadikuthu
Junction, 2 Kms from Thommankuthu Waterfalls, 8 Kms from Vannappuram, 10 Kms
from Karimannur, 17 Kms from Paingottoor, 22 Kms from Thodupuzha, 22 Kms from Thodupuzha
Bus Stand, 44 Kms from Idukki, 62 Kms from Piravom Road Railway Station and 66
Kms from Kochi Airport. The waterfall can be reached from Thodupuzha via
Karimannur and Thommankuthu.
