Chandrabhaga Dam, Bhopapur, Maharashtra
Chandrabhaga Dam is an earthfill dam on Chandrabhaga River located in Bhopapur Village in Achalpur Taluk in Amravati District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. This dam is locally called Chandrabhaga Talav / Chandrabhaga Lake. The dam was constructed in 1977 by the Government of Maharashtra.
The Dam
It is an earth fill gravity dam built across the Chandrabhaga River. The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 44.7 m (147 ft) while the length is 1,573 m (5,161 ft). The volume content is 2,952 km3 (708 cu mi) and gross storage capacity is 41,427.00 km3 (9,938.87 cu mi). This dam is a multipurpose dam used for irrigation, hydroelectric and drinking water supply. The dam is also a popular tourist attraction and known for its scenic beauty.

Dhamangaon Gadhi, 21 Kms from Paratwada, 21 Kms from Achalpur City Railway
Station, 23 Kms from Achalpur, 23 Kms from Achalpur Bus Stand, 32 Kms from Chikhaldara,
69 Kms from Amravati and 211 Kms from Nagpur Airport. The dam is situated at
about 9 Kms to the west of Dhamangaon Gadhi on Achalpur to Chikhaldara route.
