Joranda Falls is a waterfall located in the core area of Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the 19th highest waterfall in India and the highest waterfall in Odisha. The Barehipani Falls is situated closed to this waterfall.
The Waterfall
The falls is located in the main area of Similipal National Park. It has total height of about 150 metres (490 ft). The water plunges over a lofty cliff in a single drop, spreading out slightly as it falls. . It is a major tourist attraction and large numbers of tourists visit this place during their visit to Similipal National Park. This fall is also famous for picnic spot, trekking, and sightseeing. The Similipal National Park is known for its wild elephants, gaurs (Indian bison), Bengal tigers and chausingha (four horned antelope) population.
The Falls is located at about 59 Kms from Baripada Railway
Station, 61 Kms from Baripada, 89 Kms from Balasore, 200 Kms from Jamshedpur,
271 Kms from Bhubaneswar, 275 Kms from Bhubaneswar Airport and 282 Kms from Kolkata.
Baripada is situated on Balasore to Jamshedpur (NH 18).
